Each month, a "BLACK HISTORY FACT" will be presented. This info will be placed on the table outside of the Office. This month's facts:
DID YOU KNOW?
Over a century ago, Wilmington NC was one of the South's most progressive Black-majority cities. During the 1898 Massacre, at least 60 Black men were hunt down and killed by white supremacist soldiers and police. The prime target was Wilmington, where black men served as councilmen, magistrates, and police officers in a city with thriving black middle class and some 65 black doctors, lawyers and educators. For the rest of the story see the article, "The 1898 Wilmington Massacre Is an Essential Lesson in How State Violence Has Targeted Black Americans" at this link https://time.com/5861644/1898-wilmington-massacre-essential-lesson-state-violence/

CHILDRENS CHURCH – Each 4th Sunday
Children are one of God’s greatest blessings. It’s Important to help them grow in faith. Therefore, we are thrilled to announce that our Children's Church is back! We cater to young minds to teach children important life lessons that will help them grow into healthy, responsible adults while teaching children about their Best Friend and Savior– Jesus! If you're a family with children ages 4 and up, this might be something you want to check out!
Thank you to our volunteers that make this possible. You are greatly appreciated and we want to acknowledge and encourage you that serving in this area releases parents to be able to focus on the service and enjoy time together - so thank you! Again, CHILDREN’S CHURCH will be held EACH 4TH SUNDAY for AGES 4 AND UP.
